The short version.

Effective July 12, 2026. Here's everything we collect and why, written like a human because a lawyer didn't have time for us.

Your email

When you subscribe, your email is stored in Resend (the service that actually sends the newsletter). We don't sell, rent, lease, trade, or enrich your email. Resend tracks opens and clicks by default for deliverability diagnostics. Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click. You're out. We don't get a say in the matter.

Analytics

We use PostHog and Vercel Analytics to understand what people read and where the site breaks. PostHog uses cookies and local storage and may record anonymized sessions (inputs are masked). This is diagnostics, not surveillance — we're counting page views, not building a file on you.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to serve ads on parts of this site. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info or, in the EU, youronlinechoices.eu. Visitors in the EEA and UK are shown non-personalized or consent-gated ads as required by law.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, and friends), you can request access to or deletion of your personal data. If you want your email deleted entirely (not just unsubscribed), or want to know what we have (spoiler: an email address), write to us: drop@weekly.thedropnewsletter.com. We'll confirm within a week.
